What to Expect During a Sculptra Procedure

Our team will tell you how to prepare for this treatment during your consultation. Certain medications may need to be stopped or altered temporarily to prevent bleeding and bruising, especially anti-inflammatory drugs like aspirin or supplements like fish oil. 

First, we’ll clean the skin of the targeted area thoroughly. Then, we’ll apply a numbing agent onto the skin. You’ll be awake for this procedure, which usually takes less than an hour. Using a fine needle, we’ll insert Sculptra into the skin, massaging and evaluating as we go to make sure it’s distributed. The amount of injections needed varies between patients.

Sculptra Aftercare

Although Sculptra isn’t permanent, it’s long-lasting–results can be seen for over two years. Patients can usually resume standard activity levels right after the treatment, but exercise should be avoided for a few days to minimize swelling.
