What to Expect During a Fat Transfer Injection Treatment

We’ll go over preparation with you during your consultation so you can be ready to receive your treatment on the appointment day. In general, try to drink plenty of water before the treatment, and also avoid certain medications as instructed, such as aspirin and ibuprofen or other anti-inflammatory substances. 

You’ll receive anesthesia locally to make sure you’re comfortable. In some cases, such as if the area of treatment is larger, you might receive general anesthesia. This will be discussed with a member of our team beforehand. This treatment can vary in time, depending on the area being treated. The fat will be removed from one area of your body, purified, and re-inserted into the target area with the use of a needle. 

Fat Transfer Injection Aftercare

The effects of this treatment are usually permanent, meaning that you can enjoy your results for a very long time. Bruising, swelling, and/or soreness aren’t uncommon in the days following the treatment. Swelling should go down completely after a few weeks. You should plan to take it easy and not engage in strenuous activity for at least one week.
